Notice of Public Hearing on the Budget
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Proposed Budget
of the Hamptonburgh Fire District of the Town of Hamptonburgh, State of New
York, will be presented to the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hamptonburgh
Fire District, for its consideration.
A PUBLIC HEARING will be held at 7:00 p.m.
at the Campbell Hall Fire Hall, 13 Maybrook Road, Campbell Hall, New York
10916, in the Town of Hamptonburgh, State of New York on the16th
day of October, 2007.
Pursuant to Town Law §105, the Board of Fire Commissioners
must hold a public hearing on the budget, make the proposed budget available to
the public prior to the public hearing, allow the public to comment on the
budget at the public hearing. This public hearing must be held to
allow maximum public participation in the hearing.
The purpose of the public hearing is to allow any person to be heard in
favor of or against the proposed budget as it is submitted, or for or against
any item or items contained in the proposed budget, and hearing all persons
interested in the subject concerning same.
That a copy of the proposed budget is available at the Office of the
Town Clerk of the Town of Hamptonburgh at 18 Bull Road, Campbell Hall, NY 10916
and Fire District Secretary at 13 Maybrook Road, Campbell Hall, NY 10916 where
it may be inspected by any interested person during office hours (by
appointment-427-2815.)

Posting of the Notice
of Public Hearing on the Budget
1)
The Town Clerk or Town Clerks (if the Fire District is located in more
than one town) must post at least five days before the day designated
for the public hearing on the budget a copy of the notice of Public Hearing on
the Town Clerk’s signboard;
2)
The Notice of Public Hearing on the Budget must be posted on the Town’s
website and/or the Fire District website, if they exist.
Publication of the
Notice of Public Hearing:
1) The Public Hearing Notice on the Budget must be published at least once in
the official newspaper of the Fire District. If the Board has designated no
official newspaper, the notice must be published in any newspaper having
general circulation in the district.
2) The date of the first publication of the notice of the budget hearing
must take place at least five days before the hearing date.
Location and Time of Public Hearing
The public hearing should be heard
after normal working hours, at a location accessible to all members of the
public, and in a structure that is able to accommodate numerous individuals.
